When asked what the difference is between a Conservative and Liberal I always answer; A Conservative is someone that is against abortion and is a staunch supporter of the death penalty, where a Liberal is firmly against the death penalty and supports the right to abort unborn people. Either way, someone is going to get it.

Watching the news one might think that we are a crazy mixed up society that makes all of its important decisions based on either fear or superstition. And I think that this is mostly attributed to the fact that we are a bunch of crazy mixed up people that base all of our decisions on fear and superstition. Most computer people are typically somewhere in the middle and have a difficult time understanding both groups.

"Too" the Right:

Right winged people take a hard-line on crime and punishment, morality and sexuality, and have very unusual ideas on what children are for. That is; right winged people are very willing to sacrifice their children for god, country and in some cases as we are seeing from around the world, the church, or those that lead the church. Children are as important to the church as they are to the tobacco manufactures. Let me explain:

Almost every religious person follows the religion of his or her parents. If your parents are Catholic, Jewish or Muslim, you are  more likely to also become either Catholic, Jewish or Muslim. The more children you have the more people there are to follow your religious beliefs and your religion has a better chance of surviving time based on its numbers. Your religion has an even larger chance if you can keep your people isolated from other beliefs and unable to readfaith. So the Internet, contraceptions and science can be a definite threat to any faith based belief. And since most faith based people arent really any good with computers, sex and science they don't want anyone else using them either.

"Too" the Left:

Left winged people take a hard-line on nature, art and animals. Not that righties dont like animals also, they do. They just like them rare to medium rare or in a stew. But mostly lefties have a lot of cats.  Lefties are very sensitive when it comes to their art; they like to depress each other with poems while drinking coffee that can rip the chest hairs from a lumberjack but dont like to shave themselves. They take photographs of orifices, enlarge them and put them on gallery walls and paint masterpieces that look like the grill of an automobile after a long road trip. Left winged people are also very concerned when in come to nature; they like their rain forests standing, their ozone without gaping wholes in it and bark rash around their arms from hugging trees. Left winged people are also very spiritual but are kind enough not to share it with you.

About the only thing that Conservatives and Liberals do have in common is they spend a great deal of time talking about what the other side is doing wrong, unlike me that spends a lot of time talking about what everyone is doing wrong.

The Rest of us:

There is a medium though, and this group is called the rest of us. And the rest of us are the majority of this country that is somehow being ignored even though it is our resources, (tax dollars) which makes up this country. These right and left wing groups are misusing our resources against us and the only way to make it stop is for the rest of us to vote. Perhaps only then watching the evening news won't be so frustrating.
