Those companies that profit from certifications act as if the job market is fat with computer jobs and if you just get one more jobs will find you. Don't misunderstand me, if you're looking for a job, a couple more certifications can't hurt. Or if you don't have any certs, getting certified can certainly help give you an edge. This is fine if you already have experience or enough knowledge to hold whatever job you're going after. But, there are many people out their that have lost their jobs and are being told if they can just get an MCSE, they'll be able to land a job immediately making the same or better wages. This is just wrong.
