Im much the fan of flash-memory. I have a 1.5 gig, 512 Megabit, and a 128. Just last week I was thinking about trying to transfer my Knoppix-STD on to the 1.5 and just using it as my Mobile Operating System instead of the CD-ROM I have burned that I cant write back to.

Imagine if you were able to carry around your operating system with you and plugged it into to any terminal that you wished. You could walk into a Cyber-Caf of your choice, plugged in, did your business and you would be off again. I do that now, but am limited to a CD-ROM. Sometimes I can plug my flash-memory into the side of the computer if I want to download sometime from the Internet, but not always. Im not even sure though how many computers can even boot from an USB? But I have a feeling that one day soon we will be.

When I lived in Redmond WA, I remember meeting some Microsoft programmers that slide out their hard drives and took them home to their home computers.
