OpinionPollShould people who are not natural-born U.S. citizens be allowed to run for president?

Arnold for President? Absolutely not! If Arnold wants to be President of a country, let him return to Austria and run for president. If you were not born in the United States, you can not be elected President.

It appears that Arnold believes being a white male, millionaire, and married to a Kennedy entitles him to run and be elected as President of the United States. The name Bush just popped into my mind.

Arnold boast about his success and wealth, often asserting if a poor boy from Austria came to this country and achieved what he has, anybody can. This illustrates that he is either ignorant or does not care about the core problems in this country, racism, sexism and classism that plagued this country. There are generations of born citizens of this country who worked to enrich and went to wars to defend and empower this country and still can not get cab or rent an apartment or buy a home in certain neighborhoods without a struggle. Their ancestors were brought here in chains aboard slave ships, labeled subhuman, treated worst than cattle, while providing free labor that enriched this country, and many of the American born children if these slave never knew freedom. The legacy of American slavery is the white supremacy/racism that we see today, as it is woven into the fabric of this country. I am annoyed by Americans who use the success of American born Blacks, such as Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby and Colin Powell, as their proof that white supremacy/racism was effectively abolished with Civil Rights Movement and no longer exist in America. They chose to ignore that racism, particularly institutional racism, impedes true equality, and that this is why all the United States Presidents have been white males.

Arnold boast about his accomplishments, as if his white skin, male privilege has absolutely nothing to do with why certain doors have opened for him. His assertion is as ridiculous as it would sound if Ms. Winfrey, Mr. Cosby and Secretary Powell were to assert that their wealth and celebrity does not influence the manner in which they are treated by members of the generally public or the quality of service they receive. I have never heard Arnold acknowledge that, while it is illegal to do so, people are still being denied access to housing, employment, equal education, and medical treatment, because of he color of their skin, and this country has a long history of racial profiling.

The day that this country elects its first woman and American born Black to the office of President, I will entertain the question of should the constitution be amended to allow non-natural born citizens to be President.

The big question that will be asked this week is, Should people who are not natural-born U.S. citizens be allowed to run for president?

Already the Republican Party is priming the way for Arnold Schwarzenegger to become president of the United States. Politicians are no longer satisfied with just out sourcing our jobs; now they are working on the Presidency. Whats your opinion on the subject, show people who are not natural-born citizens be allowed to run for president?
