Spam is a bigger topic among computer people than global warming. Spam can cause a poor salaried network administrator overtime hours that he or she will never get paid for. Spam is more aggravating than high gas prices, the Democratic primaries, and out of paper printers.  But what is even more aggravating is spending 15K on an anti-spam appliance that only stops 60 percent of incoming spam; is spending 15K on an anti-spam appliance, and it only stops 60 percent of the spam.

My boss asked; Why am I getting spam when we spent so much money on a spam server?

The only answer I can give are excuses for someone elses product, and the only thing he hears is I didnt do enough research before I spend 15K on a spam server that does not stop all of the spam.

Well, Im not one for endorsing software; in fact I am more likely to complain about software than I am to ever endorse it, but

I downloaded the 30-day evaluation of GfiMailEssentials, and I havent purchased it yet, but I am going to before my 30 days are up.

After installing GfiMailEssentials on my Exchange Server 2003, it has eliminated 98 percent of all spam. Something that my current spam server has failed to do. Maybe it takes two spam servers these day, but I like GfiMailEssentials. It is easy to use, simple to install, and a lot cheaper on the IT budget.
